Andres Hurtadoknown as Chibolín, has been under the public eye in the United States not only because of his career as an animator and actorbut for its links with Christian Olivos Gonzalesalias “Chicho”. This Peruvian businessman, also known for being the promoter of events in North America, faces serious accusations from the DEA for money laundering and drug trafficking. Through official documents revealed by the ‘Panorama’ program, it has been shown that both maintained a close relationship, which went beyond friendship and reached a work agreement for the organization of the events company in the United States called “Lo Mejor of Peru in the USA”.
The evidence obtained by the Sunday newspaper indicates that in the United States, the DEA has maintained before the court that Christian Olivos had “the intention to hide and disguise the nature, source, ownership, and control of assets (…) A transaction de Chicho was suspected of coming from a specific illegal activity, that is, the proceeds from the sale of controlled substances.
To defend himself, Chibolín’s friend hired a law firm, whose clients are former presidents extradited to the USA, and paid bail equivalent to $150,000. This allowed him to be released.
Event company “The Best of Peru in the USA”
What began as a collaboration in the world of entertainment ended up being a scandal of international dimensions. Hurtado promoted himself as the exclusive artist of the aforementioned Chicho company, demonstrating the close friendship that existed between the two. “I am Andrés Hurtado, to tell you that I am an exclusive artist of the best company in Peru in the USA,” he indicated in the promotional videos.
According to Panorama, the company was established in Coral Gables-Florida and has Christian Olivos as director. With that corporation, he had as guests renowned Peruvian artists such as: Bryan Arámbulú, Walter and Javier, the Yaipén brothers, among others.
Yaipen brothers give their defenses
The Sunday newspaper contacted Gianfranco Yaipén who confirmed that they never managed to present themselves with the company “The Best of Peru in the USA.”
“My tour manager, my sister Karen, she told me, she showed up at the embassy and said that the documents were fine, but the problem came from the company on behalf of Mr. (Olivos),” Yaipén explained.
Along these lines, the problem for the presentation of the Yaipén Brothers group to come to fruition came from Chicho’s company. It should be noted that according to a document presented by ‘Panorama’, the person who appears as Chicho’s second is the Peruvian Héctor Ricardo Sánchez Mera, who has been denounced along with Chibolín for a 100,000 scam in the United States.
