The community of San Cayetano is shocked after the tragic news of the discovery of the lifeless body of Alexis Delgado Ramírez, a child of just two years old, who had disappeared since last Saturday, October 19, 2024. The situation has triggered a series of investigations that point to the responsibility of one of their caregivers.

The governor of Cundinamarca, Jorge Emilio Rey, reported that the minor’s body was found in the same village and farm where he lived. «Alexis had been delivered into custody to his aunt, and last Friday her husband took him to a nearby area on horseback. Returning at night, apparently in a state of intoxication, he allegedly dropped the child,” the president said.

For his part, Luis Alejandro Roncancio, mayor of San Cayetano, also spoke about the case, revealing the version of the caretaker, who now faces charges for the crime. «What he says is that the horse he was riding on ran away, the child fell off on two occasions; that the child fell badly; So he went and put him to bed, the child fell asleep and then died. “Supposedly, he got scared and went and buried him,” the mayor explained.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to clarify the circumstances of Alexis’ death. «The judicial investigation will establish whether there was negligence in not taking him to the medical service. The blows suffered must have been so strong that, unfortunately, they caused his death,” the governor concluded.
Finally, the alleged perpetrator of the incident was placed at the disposal of the authorities and a statement from the authorities is awaited to learn more details about the incident.
