Santo Domingo.- The Youth Ministry announced the extension of the application period to apply for the 2025 National Youth Award, so that more young people have the opportunity to register for this award dedicated to “Influential Youth of Digital Communication”, highlighting the transformative role of young people who have known how to take advantage of digital platforms to create positive social, educational and cultural impact.
The new registration deadline for the XXIX edition of the National Youth Award (PNJ) is until October 31, 2024.
The award ceremony will take place within the framework of the commemoration of National Youth Day, reaffirming the importance of this recognition as the highest award granted by the Dominican State to young people.
The National Youth Award is a recognition that, since its creation, has sought to reward young people who stand out for their talent, dedication and significant contributions to Dominican society. Through this award, the Ministry of Youth celebrates those young people who are examples of innovation, leadership and commitment to their community, in areas such as science, culture, sports, digital communication and entrepreneurship.
The extension will be valid until October 31, 2024, providing a last opportunity to those young people who have not yet formalized their registration to participate in the 2025 National Youth Award.
Interested candidates must meet the following requirements: be Dominican citizens, between the ages of 15 and 35, and demonstrate a history of outstanding contributions in the areas of application.
To formalize their candidacy, applicants must complete the application form, available on the official website of the Ministry of Youth (juventud.gob.do). Additionally, they must attach the required documentation, which includes certificates that support their achievements, a letter of recommendation and any other document that supports their positive impact on society. It is important that all documents are submitted correctly and within the established deadline to ensure your participation in this edition of the award.

The award has various categories, including Contributions to the Peasant Community and Rural Development, Contributions to Human Rights (Children, Adolescence and Youth), International Sports, National Sports, Cultural Development (Art and Culture), Business Development and Entrepreneurship , Political Leadership, Religious Leadership, Pre-University Student Merit, University Student Merit, Preservation and Promotion of Natural Resources, Voluntary Social Services in Favor of the Community, Professional Improvement, Personal Improvement and Achievements, and Young Dominican Abroad.
Transparent and Participatory Evaluation Process
The PNJ 2025 guarantees a transparent evaluation process, in which evaluation committees made up of specialists in each area, members of civil society, representatives of the private sector and government officials participate. The evaluation will be carried out at the regional and national level, ensuring that those selected are truly worthy of the recognition.
