The Company Distributor Eastern Electricity (Edeeste) installed a new transformer of 28MVA power, at the Yamasá substation, which will benefit 22,425 families.
The investment of this work exceeds 52 million pesos.
The general manager of EdeesteManuel Mejía Naut, indicated that this project will strengthen the ability distribution and stability of the network, will allow improving the supply of energy in key areas, reducing disruptions and ensuring service more efficient.
“With this initiative, we seek to satisfy the growing demand electricity and promote more development sustainable for 22,425 families who reside in this town,” highlighted Mejía Naut.
He pointed out that these great works are part of the investment carried out by the Government through the Advice Unified of Distribution Companies in all Edes.
These works will benefit to the Yamasá area, including the YAMA01 and YAMA02 circuits. Among the favored sectors are Don Juan, Los Coquitos, Nuevo Horizonte, El Cercadillo, El 35, Los Botados, Los Solares, El Reparadero, Cruce Yamasá-Monte Plata, La Lomita, among others.

The distribution company indicated that in the municipality of Yamasá, the losses of energy have reached critical levels, rising to 71%. Of the 22,425 households that make up the community, 12,164 are not paying for the service electricity, which represents a “huge burden” on the system and a threat to the stability of the supply.
This situation not only affects the electric company, but also residents who face frequent blackouts and a service inefficient due to network overload.
The high index of connections irregular and electrical fraud not only increase the losses economic, but also put the infrastructure and safety of the population at risk.
The electrical company will begin a customer normalization plan in Yamasá, with the aim of reducing losses of energy and ensure that improvements made to electrical infrastructure are sustainable.
