The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, dismissed the report of the International Independent Mission to Determine the Facts about Venezuela (Miidh), recently presented to the United Nations.
“That document is a pamphlet, it is a crude montage by an organization that has been an instrument to sabotage the relationship that the Venezuelan State maintained with the office of the UN Commissioner here in the country. Since 2019, this organization was created to attack Venezuela, hand in hand with the extinct Lima group,” Saab said in an interview with the program ground wirewhich broadcasts VTV Radio.
In this sense, he stated that the aforementioned document was prepared on a series of false data, and that the only intention with it is to destabilize the country.
“It is painful that, in the name of the UN, a paid mission lends itself to these plans. While in Palestine the Zionist state of Israel has devastated thousands of lives, and this entity does not comment on the matter,” he highlighted.
Likewise, Saab rejected the intention to use the acts of violence caused by the extreme right in the days after July 28 to maintain the attack against the country.
In this sense, Saab referred to the case of the young Ángel Mora, who died after falling from a catwalk as a result of a panic crisis, at a time when a protest was taking place against the results of the presidential election on July 28. , which shows, according to what he said, is that it is a false positive.
“During the violent events of July 28 and 29, the direct call of the commanders led by the Venezuelan extreme right to assassinate the president and people affected by the Revolution was evident, as well as the burning of public and private property. There were 28 victims and there is not a single complaint that links any member of the Fanb and the police in these events,” he stressed.
He assured that the aforementioned mission does not have evidence that incriminates the State regarding the alleged events in which several young people died during the aforementioned protests.
“If you say that you have no evidence, because you did not investigate, that links these deaths to the Venezuelan State. “Then why do you accuse the Venezuelan State?” asked the prosecutor.
In the opinion of the official “the report is full of lies. It is not comparable to the report of the Public Ministry in relation to those events in real time, at the scene, where 550 procedures were carried out through 40 different means of evidence, however, the mission does not have means of proof.
He stressed that “they – the aforementioned mission – did not set foot in Venezuela” to carry out a truly serious investigation into the cases presented in the aforementioned document.
Finally, he considered that the Fact Finding Mission wants to be a parallel body to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and that “it was created to sabotage the relationship of the Venezuelan State with the High Commissioner for Human Rights,” adding that “ “The United States uses the issue of human rights to attack countries that are not affected by it.”
