The national director of Epidemiology, Ronald Skewes, reported that the behavior of the covid-19 follows the same downward trend that has manifested in the last four or five weeks.
“We are very close to the lowest historical values. The positivity of the last four weeks is steadily declining and the number of daily cases that are showing up are relatively few,” she stated.
According to bulletin 706, in the last 24 hours, 440 new cases were reported, detected through 7,623 samples. Of these, 3,393 were PCR and 4,230 antigenic.
Dr. Skewes made a special call for attention so that the population does not stop carrying out tests to determine coronavirus infections.
“We observe this with some concern because we cannot reduce the number of samples taken so much that are necessary for epidemiological surveillance and to be able to see the evolution of the pandemic,” he said.
The seven-day incidence went from measuring 440 at the omicron peak to marking six this week. There are 2,253 active cases.
The provinces of the Northwest Line, Greater Santo Domingo and Santiago continue with the highest incidence rate.
Daily positivity is at 8.83% and lethality at 0.76%.
