The minors were found yesterday in the Cochabamba municipality of Quillacollo in the company of Jorge Janco Arias, 30 years old, who was arrested and is being prosecuted for the crime of human trafficking.
The departmental commander of the Cochabamba Police, Edson Claure, reported that the two sisters are in good health and that They were found thanks to the cooperation with Santa Cruz agents.
Last night, the minors were transported on an air flight by members of the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc) from the Jorge Wilstermann airport in the city of Cochabamba to the Viru Viru airport in Santa Cruz.
After their arrival on Santa Cruz soil, the girls were taken to Montero and handed over to the psychologists of the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents to provide them with care and interview them. The girls’ mother tearfully thanked the police for their work in finding her daughters and locating the kidnapper’s whereabouts, however, the The Ombudsman’s Office announced that she will still not be able to see the girls until any type of risk is ruled out. for the victims.
While Jorge Janco Arias was also transferred to Santa Cruz and will be brought before a precautionary judge in the next few hours for kidnapping and human trafficking.
“Once the fact was known, the Public Ministry in coordination with the Police carried out the investigative work to find the subject who kidnapped the two girls, the statements of witnesses were taken, images from security cameras from different parts of the municipality were requested. from Montero and Quillacollo, in the department of Cochabamba, among other elements that will be presented in the formal accusation,” said the departmental prosecutor of Santa Cruz, Róger Mariaca.
