“Of course, each one with its degree of progress, which is very close to the plan that she is proposing and we believe that in the next six years we can achieve an even greater objective than the one we initially proposed, which was 128 parks,” He said within the framework of the 30th Mexican Foreign Trade Congress organized by the Mexican Foreign Trade Council (Comce).
He recalled that two and a half months ago since talks began with President Claudia Sheinbaum’s team, 72 parks were visualized and since then the increase that occurred was 20 parks.
“That tells you about the incentive that developers have to continue investing in Mexico,” explained the president of the AMPIP.
The Association’s projection of 128 industrial parks for this six-year period considered an investment of 9,000 million dollars and a construction of 21 million square meters, but this investment can be doubled if more conditions are created, that is, greater availability of energy and water.
This year alone, AMPIP partners estimate to invest 4 billion dollars.
“This information that the government provides us through the Ministry of Economy is very good, that they are truly motivated to have more energy generation, more transmission and distribution of electricity. And of course take care of the issue of the footprint If these conditions are met, I think the investment will even double,” commented Avalos Carpinteyro.
He specified that the investment made in industrial parks is not related to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), because it is an investment by Mexican companies, but they do create spaces for companies to carry out their manufacturing activities, and that It can generate up to 350,000 jobs.
