After a two-year hiatus, Brazil will once again host the men’s volleyball Club World Championship in December. The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB, its French acronym) announced this Friday (18) that the city of Uberlândia (MG) will host the competition for the first time in history. The 19th edition of the World Cup will take place from December 10th to 15th, at Arena Sabiazinho. There will be a total of eight elite teams in the dispute, including hosts Praia Clube and Cruzeiro.

Initially, the competition would be in India, but the country withdrew from hosting the event. In addition to Brazil, teams from Italy (Trentino and Lube Civitanova), Argentina (Ciudad Voley, Iran (Fooland Sirjan and Shahdab Yazd) and Egypt (Al Ahly SC) are in contention.
Brazil has already hosted the Club World Cup eight times. The last city included was Betim (MG), in 2022. The FIVB will announce the dates and time of the tournament’s group stage in the coming days.
