In Chile, drivers must respect the regulations established in the Traffic Law, since violating them can have serious consequences, both economic and criminal. Among the most severe infractions contemplated are those that not only involve finesbut also prison sentences.

The Traffic Law establishes that the organization or participation in unauthorized races, commonly known as clandestine races, is punishable with minor imprisonment in its minimum degree, that is, penalties ranging from 61 days to 541 days in jail. Additionally, those involved can receive a fine which ranges between 2 and 10 UTM, which is equivalent to a range of $133,122 to $665,610, according to October 2024 values.
