Coronavirus in Uruguay: 4,032 new cases, 14 deaths and 130 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Wednesday 4,032 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 14,122 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The rate of positivity was located in 28.5% although duplicate tests in some people (PCR and antigens) are also included.

What’s more, there were 14 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 57 and 93 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 6,919 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 32,234 active cases throughout the country and 130 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total number of positive cases that have the disease, 508 correspond to health personnel.

Of the 4,032 new cases, 1,903 are from Montevideo, 683 from Canelones, 197 from Colonia, 166 from Maldonado, 129 from Tacuarembó, 117 from Paysandú, 104 from San José, 94 from Lavalleja, 84 from Treinta y Tres, 83 from Florida, 82 from Rocha, 78 from Salto, 65 from Cerro Largo, 60 from Soriano, 41 from Durazno, 38 from Río Negro, 37 from Artigas, 36 from Rivera and 35 from Flores.

All departments report infected people this Tuesday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets.

For the report of the day, the Ministry of Public Health reported that removed two cases from the list.
