President Alberto Fernández asked the Peronist militancy this Wednesday to “understand” that “Divided we are very weak and united we are very strong”by participating in the relaunch of the Peronist University Youth (JUP), in its capacity as head of the national Justicialist Party (PJ), in a ceremony held in the courtyard of the Rector’s Office of the National University of La Plata (UNLP).

Fernández stated that he feels “very happy” to see that the youth “acts, regroups and stands up to challenge the future and build it.”

In addition, he defended public education by emphasizing that the free university “was what made Argentina different in the continent”, and considered that “without public education there are no possibilities of social advancement”.

The President recalled that “it was not the university of the people” until Juan Domingo Perón “made it free for all the children of the workers” and pointed out that “that day in which the Argentine university was really opened to all Argentines and that idea that the workers had , the workers, with ‘My son the doctor’, it began to be possible”.

Fernández vindicated Peronism by emphasizing that thanks to that movement “we Argentines knew that those who work have rights” because Justicialism “was born to give Argentines rights.”

The president stated that “A present State is needed so that, where there is a need, it can deliver a right to those who need it.”

And he stated that “the Peronism that Argentina needs is the Peronism that is in the streets, claims and demandsthe one who is not satisfied with this present, the one who passed the pandemic and stands up with all the necessary force to get the country back on its feet”, and also assured that the Front of All (FdT) will continue “always by the side of the Argentine people.

Fernández also called for “not forgetting what happened” with the loan that the country contracted with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and warned that the 45,000 billion dollars that it owes to that organization “have a responsible name, and it is not my name,” referring to former president Mauricio Macri.

However, the head of state assured that Peronism will do “what it always does”, affirming that the FdT “will look for solutions”.

“We face problems and seek solutions so that people live better. First, we privilege those who have the least, those who have been left out. We learned it from Perón and Evita, let us never forget it. We have an eternal mandate with our people, comply with them and that everyone has the opportunity to develop”, he summarized.

On the other hand, he highlighted that “days ago the United Nations Organization showed a table of positions of those countries with more than 30 million inhabitants that have achieved the greatest immunity due to the given vaccines, and is headed by Argentina”, after which he emphasized: “That is thinking of the other.”

“It was a collective process of solidarity that should draw our attention and we feel it is very valuable, because we are a wonderful people, although some would have us believe otherwise,” he added about the role of society during the pandemic.

At the end, he reiterated a phrase from former Buenos Aires Governor Antonio Cafiero, who said that “who dreams alone, only dreams; who dreams with another changes history”; and concluded: “Let’s dream and change history.”

Fernández left the Casa Rosada by helicopter at 5:10 p.m. and, once in La Plata, he met with the provincial president Axel Kicillof at the Buenos Aires Government, as confirmed by Télam from official sources.

“I received the President in La Plata. We continue to work together with the national government in the transformation of the Province,” Kicillof posted on Twitter.

Later, the President held a meeting with the head of the UNLP, Fernando Tauber, with whom he discussed the role of national universities for the development of the country.

The meeting was also attended by the national deputy for the province of Buenos Aires, Victoria Tolosa Paz, and the mayor of Berisso, Fabián Cagliardi.

During the meeting, Fernández highlighted the growth and international recognition that the house of studies in La Plata has today: “It makes us proud as Argentines, it has a solid scientific system, a Museum of Natural Sciences and a Planetarium that are unique in Latin America, and that continues to grow day by day thanks to the conviction that public education is the true engine for the development of the country. “he said, as reported in a statement.

The Minister for Women, Gender Policies and Sexual Diversity, Estela Díaz; the mayor of Ensenada, Mario Secco; provincial senators Omar Plaini and María Reigada; the head of Suteba, Roberto Baradel; the provincial deputy Guillermo Escudero and the leaders Federico Martelli (MUP) and Juan Manuel Romero, general secretary of the JUP, among others.
