Matrix rupture leaves two districts of Huancayo without drinking water

A break in the 24″ diameter main pipe, located in the Chamisería sector, affected two districts in the province of Huancayo, leaving them without drinking water. Faced with this situation, EPS Sedam Huancayo SA immediately activated its rapid response plan.

The incident was caused by a company that is paving the Palián – Pariahuanca road. A team of workers arrived at the scene, along with heavy machinery, to evaluate the damage and carry out the repair. Thanks to this quick intervention, the flow of water through the pipe can be resumed, although in a volume smaller than its transfer capacity.

The affected sectors in El Tambo are: Jr. Aguirre Morales, Av. Ferrocarril, Parque Infantil and Av. Huancavelica, Urpaycancha, San Luis, Los Andes and Siglo XX. Likewise, throughout the district of Huancayo and Chilca. Sedam Huancayo SA reaffirms its commitment to the population and will continue working to guarantee the supply of drinking water to all its users.
