Faced with suspensions, the INE pauses activities on judicial elections

The National Electoral Institute (INE) notified federal courts that it suspended two activities aimed at organizing the judicial election, until the challenges to the process are substantively resolved.

So far, the INE has been notified of 110 suspension orders issued by federal judges; When submitting his reports to the judges, he notified them that for now he has postponed the actions he had planned and now everything “will be subject to the determination that the corresponding authorities notify about the resolutions of the trials and appeals filed.”

Before the official’s statement, President Claudia Sheinbaum pointed out that there was no reason to stop the judicial election process.

“It is a decision of the people of Mexico that was shown in the result of the election and that in turn is a constitutional reform that with the articles of the Constitution itself is already published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, and is the new Constitution ”Sheinbaum said during the morning conference.

“The councilors must follow what the Constitution establishes; There is no protection that can prevent the election from being carried out successfully,” he added.
