Surgeons at the Julio César Demarini Caro Hospital, in the province of Chanchamayo, extracted dozens of parasites from the intestine of a 2-year-old boy from Satipo, who arrived at the hospital with alarming symptoms of an intestinal obstruction.

The child had stomach pain, inflammation and vomiting, caused by the presence of worms in his digestive system. Doctors Jorge Unchupaico Fermín and Verónica Peña Madrid operated on the minor to save his life.

The surgeons removed dozens of parasites that were obstructing the child’s intestine. The intervention was a success, thus relieving the child’s discomfort and avoiding future complications with his health.
