Rodríguez: Law for the defense of political sovereignty seeks peace

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, assured that the development of the Law for the Defense of Political Sovereignty and National Self-Determination has the peace of the country as its fundamental objective.

He explained that one of the main proposals that have emerged from the constitutional table within the framework of the reform of electoral lawsis the development of this new norm, with the objective of avoiding, preventing and stopping attempts to use the political channels granted by the Constitution for conspiracy, treason, violence, calls for invasions, etc.

“It cannot be that a political group calls people to the streets, and it is the common citizen who puts the dead, the blood and the anxiety while they are happy in Madrid or right now, right now, under the bed in an embassy, she,” Rodríguez stressed, referring to the far-right leader María Corina Machado. “You have to assume responsibilities. “These situations cannot continue to occur,” he added.

In his opinion, the objective of this law is to protect the exercise of political sovereignty and national self-determination from foreign interference through economic aid or financial contributions to organizations with political purposes, defense organizations with political purposes, natural persons that carry out political activities, as well as the participation of foreigners who, under the guise of sponsorship of these organizations, may threaten the functioning of the organizations of the Republic.

“It cannot be that a mercenary comes to say that he is going to pick up a talk to come and kill the President, some official. That can’t keep happening. Imagine that there is a collection in Kazakhstan to go to the United States to assassinate some figure in that country’s political life. This is a law above all to protect peace. They produce the cannon fodder. Who pays for these victims, who is responsible? This grotesque is already making a collection there in Madrid to guarantee his good life and the other hidden in an embassy,” he reiterated, referring to the far-right González Urrutia and María Corina Machado.
