HOLY SUNDAY.– As an opening to the dialogue prior to the public hearings this Thursday for the Fiscal Modernization projectthe Chamber of Deputies received yesterday, Tuesday, in different meetings, representatives of seven productive sectors and heard their opinions regarding the bill.

The Chamber of Deputies was attended by the presidents of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), Celso Juan Marranzini; from the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), Julio Virgilio Brache; from the Association of Home Builders and Developers (Acorprovi), Annerys Meléndez; from the Hotel and Tourism Association (Asonahores), David Llibre; from the Non-Alcoholic Beverages Association, Juan Amell; of the Dominican National Brewery, Fabián Suárez and the spokesperson for the Dominican Association of Rum Producers (Adopron), Circe Almánzar.

The president of the Legislative body, Alfredo Pacheco, highlighted the commission’s responsibility to listen carefully to all parties involved in the Fiscal Modernization bill.

He explained that the deputies, and now the Finance Commission, are committed to evaluating all opinions and perspectives, to guarantee an inclusive and equitable reform.

Pacheco stated that the presentations were of great interest, given that each sector expresses its concerns, which allows legislators to have a broader view of the initiative.

The Permanent Finance Commission of the Chamber of Deputies will continue with the study of the project, receiving more representatives from the productive sectors.
