A total of 980 kilos of cocaine were incinerated in the Río Socuavo Norte sector, Jesús María Semprúm municipality (Casigua-El Cubo), Zulia state, the same place where they were located, according to military sources.
Six logistical camps of irregular groups dedicated to the production and illicit trafficking of drugs were located at the site.
Officials from the Regional Anti-Drug Intelligence Unit, Bolivarian National Police and National Anti-Drug Superintendency participated in the location and dismantling of these camps, who executed Operation Mara, derived from the Bolivarian Shield.
In addition to the drugs, the commission seized 3,400 liters of gasoline, 120 liters of sulfuric acid, 150 liters of hydrochloric acid, 120 liters of acetone, 220 kilos of lime, 3,300 kilos of urea, 20 liters of potassium permanganate, 10 liters of caustic soda and 600 kilos of gunpowder.
The first graphics of the procedure were released last Saturday by Domingo Hernández Lárez, head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb).
In the photographs, soldiers can be seen incinerating panels of drugs while others display military clothing found at the site. Among the items of clothing are bracelets with the initials “Farc-EP”, which allude to a dissident group of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. The destruction of a landing strip can also be seen.
“Our territory will not be a platform for drug trafficking or criminal gangs associated with transcription,” Hernández wrote.
