The president of the Evaluation and Nominations Committee of the Citizen Power, deputy Giuseppe Alessandrelloreported that next Tuesday, November 5, it will present the list of eligible to the 2020 plenary session of the National Assembly (AN) for the positions of prosecutor, comptroller and ombudsman.
He detailed at the beginning of the ordinary session on October 15 that the process of preparing the list consists of four phases: the call, evaluation of the applications, challenge and the preparation of the list of eligibles.
«In that order of ideas, today the application process began, which will last until next Monday; I urge all Venezuelans who are interested in occupying the positions of attorney general of the Republic, comptroller general of the Republic, and ombudsman to make their applications and not leave it until the last minute. Unlike the other processes that have been carried out to designate the Electoral Branch, the Judicial Branch, in this case the law establishes a peremptory period of 30 days,” he explained.
On the other hand, he pointed out to the plenary session that the approved calendar establishes 26 days to submit the list of eligible people and that after that the AN will decide on the list of members of the Citizen Power.
The Evaluation and Nominations Committee of the Citizen Power published the notices corresponding to the call made for candidates to occupy the positions of attorney general of the Republic, comptroller general of the Republic and ombudsman.
All those Venezuelans interested in running as candidates must comply with the requirements and demands, as established in article 288 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and in the respective corresponding organic laws as the case may be.
“I urge Venezuelans who are interested in opting for the position of prosecutor, comptroller and ombudsman to make their applications and not leave it to the last minute because unlike other processes in this case the law establishes a peremptory period of 30 days », he expressed.
