In August, the best performing sector was mining and hydrocarbons, which grew 8.87% due to the increased production of copper, molybdenum, silver, lead and tin. Increased exploitation of natural gas liquids and crude oil was also observed.
Construction, for its part, advanced 4.14% due to the greater physical progress of works and the increase in internal cement consumption. With this result, it accumulates an advance of 4.41% in the year.
During August, the sectors that registered negative results were the fishing sector with a drop of 27.78%, the agricultural sector with a decline of 2.29%, and the financial and insurance sectors with a decrease of 1.24%.
“The total exported volume of goods grew 14.43%, due to greater shipments of traditional (15.13%) and non-traditional (13%) products. In reference to the first group, there were greater shipments of fishing products, followed by agricultural, mining, oil and natural gas; from the non-traditional group, agricultural, textile, fishing, chemical, iron and steel and non-metallic mining products grew,” the INEI stated.
