Public Ministry and National Police identify and pursue the perpetrator of the death of a man on Charles de Gaulle Avenue, SDE

A high-level commission headed by the Public Ministry identified and actively pursues the perpetrator of the firearm death of Wendel Alejandro Almonte Veloz28 years old, who was injured on the morning of Saturday the 12th while traveling in his vehicle along Charles de Gaulle Avenue, in Santo Domingo Este, and died early on Sunday the 13th while receiving medical attention.
This is Rafael Laureano de los Santos (a) Cabitowho is a sergeant major of this institution, where he works as an administrative driver for services.
In this first phase of the investigation, the Public Ministry of the judicial district of the Santo Domingo province, together with members of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) have deployed multiple actions that include raids, camera surveys, analysis of evidence, forensic ballistics , as well as crime scene processing.
During the investigation process, images captured by security cameras near the scene of the incident were obtained. Subsequently, a follow-up was carried out on the perpetrator, who was recorded in several of the cameras analyzed.
The law enforcement institution specifies that the evidence collected by the representatives of the Public Ministry and forensic experts irrefutably demonstrate the direct connection of the now fugitive De los Santos (a) Cabito in the event described above.
Both videos taken with the corresponding court orders, and interviews with eyewitnesses, point to the aforementioned as the author of the incident.
Given the evidence collected, the National Police urges Rafael Laureano de los Santos (a) Cabito to surrender by any means he deems appropriate, so that he can answer for the act of which he is accused.
It should be noted that at dawn this Tuesday, search warrant No. 530-EMES-2024-02058 was executed at the fugitive’s residence, where he has not appeared since Saturday morning.
