National Gospel Music Day will be celebrated annually on June 9th. In posts on the social network X, the president highlighted that the date guarantees “visibility to the important role of culture, religiosity and faith of millions of Brazilians.” In another message, he mentioned that the government worked to guarantee religious freedom by law, “so that Brazilians could profess their faith.”

“Setting a national date dedicated to gospel music will draw attention to this important vector of mental, psychological and spiritual comfort”, highlighted deputy Otoni de Paula (MDB-RJ), on behalf of the Evangelical Parliamentary Front.

For Pedro Rajão, researcher and producer of the Negro Muro project, of urban art, such as graffiti, the law gives legitimacy for artists to be seen as workers.

As the text was processed in Congress, parliamentarians understood that this recognition promotes social inclusion and economic development in marginalized communities.

One of the greatest educators in Brazil, the Bahian from the city of Caetité was also a jurist, intellectual and writer. Present at the sanction ceremony, Federal Deputy Alice Portugal celebrated the recognition precisely on Teacher’s Day.

He was a defender of education without privileges and democratic access to education. He was even one of the creators of the University of Brasília, where he was once rector. In the 90s, his name was incorporated into INEP, which today is called the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira.

Another bill signed this Tuesday by President Lula inscribes the name of Eduardo Henrique Accioly Campos in the Book of Heroes of the Fatherland.
