The measure is aimed at first and second cycle students, up to 20 years old, who live more than a kilometer away from their study center. The benefit applies to both public and private institutions and includes a total of 50 free monthly tickets.

It is essential to have a student STM card, which has the section of the trips correctly registered in the system (origin and destination), to avoid inconveniences. Those who do not have this unit and want to access it must go to the STM Comprehensive Care Centers, located in different parts of Montevideo.

The free recharge applies to the metropolitan, interurban and urban passenger transport services of Canelones and Montevideo, says the ministry.
