Venezuela reaffirms commitment to building ties of solidarity with Brazil

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed this Tuesday that Venezuela, through the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, reaffirms its commitment to building ties of brotherhood and solidarity with Brazil, after referring to the recent statements made by the attorney general of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, about President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

“The Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Relations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses to national and international public opinion, especially to the people and Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil, that the recent statements issued by the Attorney General of the Republic, regarding President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, correspond to opinions of a very personal nature and at no time do they reflect the position of the national Executive, responsible for Venezuelan foreign policy,” says the message published in the Telegram channel of Chancellor Yván Gil.

In this sense, Gil stated that the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy maintains its commitment to building relations between both nations that have progressed in recent times in areas such as economic, political and social.

Likewise, he ratified the respect we have for the historical trajectory and leadership of the Brazilian head of state, “as well as for the relationships between countries, states and peoples that will continue to be strengthened.”

For its part, the Public Ministry shared a message from the attorney general through its account on the social network Instagramin which he emphasized that the statements given were in his personal capacity and should not be attributed to the official position of the national Executive.

The prosecutor also warned about a campaign orchestrated by foreign media that have taken his statements out of context and manipulated them at their convenience.
