TERRIBLE FIRE
It rains on #Cabimas and apparently lightning struck a crude oil storage facility in the La Salina tank yard. The incident is serious. Rain doesn’t help because this type of fire is put out with special foam, not water.#Venezuela pic.twitter.com/38kpPATe8h

The event occurred, according to information provided by social media users who live near the refinery and journalists in the area, early on Thursday, at the crossroads of the streets in the trench area of the Paraguaná Refining Complex, Cardón headquarters, Minutes after being controlled, the flames and smoke were present again, at another point coming from the trench crossing.
He climate of opacity of Venezuela’s oil operations, the absence of maintenance of the facilities, the lack of training of personnel and the fear of reporting unsafe conditions, favor the increase in accidents in the sector, according to experts and union sources.
In recent times, however, researchers, analysts, unionists, and workers in the Venezuelan oil industry have noted an increase in the occurrence of situations that compromise the safety of employees, operations, and facilities alike.
