The National Assembly (AN)approved an agreement in “Commemoration of the 12 years of the perfect electoral victory of Commander Hugo Chávez in the presidential elections of October 7, 2012” as an expression of the power of the people and the will to continue advancing towards a more just and sovereign Venezuela.
Deputy Fernando Bastidas, in charge of presenting the agreement, highlighted that October 7 was not only an election, but a day that became a historic trigger for the Homeland.
“With respect to this point, we could evoke different experiences or experiences, the feat from Sabaneta to Miraflores, on October 4 with the 7 avenues full of people and blessed rain of the Cordonazo of San Francisco, we could evoke all this, well, we have a lot to say, but I would like to highlight that Commander Chávez, that night of October 7, in the Balcón del Pueblo, told us, October 7 was the accumulation of a set of struggles of the people that during the preceding years in the first decade of this 21st century, led the Bolivarian Revolution to carry out, with the leadership of Hugo Chávez, a set of transformations in favor of essential demands for the poorest and most humble,” he expressed.
Furthermore, he calls for continuing his legacy “to guarantee the continuation of the Bolivarian Revolution and consolidate a prosperous, socialist and deeply revolutionary nation.” It is also worth noting that in the presidential elections of October 7, 2012, Chávez triumphed with eight million 191 thousand 132 votes.
12 years after this perfect victory, the people celebrate this historic date that continues to resonate in the souls of men and women who work every day to achieve the state of social well-being promoted and bequeathed by the founder of the Revolution in Venezuela.
