Bank customers have until Wednesday to withdraw forgotten amounts

Around 42 million individuals and 3.6 million legal entities have until Wednesday (16) to withdraw funds forgotten in the financial system. According to the most recent data from the Central Bank’s Receivables System (SVR), referring to August, R$8.59 billion has not yet been withdrawn. Of this total, R$6.62 billion refers to amounts not withdrawn by individuals and R$1.97 billion by companies.Bank customers have until Wednesday to withdraw forgotten amounts

On Thursday (17), the undrawn resources will be transferred to the National Treasury’s single account, to comply with the law that compensates for the extension of payroll exemption of 17 sectors of the economy and 156 municipalities, approved in September by Congress. The R$8.56 billion will make up the R$55 billion that will enter the government’s treasury to pay for the extension of the benefit.

The Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom) highlighted that the forecast for incorporation of these resources by the National Treasury has been provided for in legislation for more than 70 years, through the Law 2,313 of 1954. The text clarifies that, unlike a traditional confiscation, citizens will be able to claim forgotten values.

The Ministry of Finance, informed Secom, will publish a notice in the Official Gazette of the Union with information on the amounts to be received. The collection may be challenged by those entitled to it.

How to withdraw

The only website where it is possible to consult is the official website of Receivable Value System. When opening the page, the user must click on “Consult amounts receivable”, fill in the fields with the data, click on “Consult” and check for forgotten amounts.

If there is money to receive, the user must click on the “Access SVR” button. This second stage, however, requires a silver or gold account on the Gov.br Portal. After opening the new page, the SVR will inform you of a date to consult the values and data for the transfer. In most cases, the user can schedule a Pix. In others, it will be necessary to contact financial institutions through the channels provided on the Central Bank website.

On the date informed by the system, the user must access the SVR website again, using the Gov.br login. Only then will it be possible to request the transfer of the amounts. Anyone who misses their appointment date will have to re-enter the page and request a new return date.

The consultation is open to deceased people and closed companies. Access is possible to the heir, executor, executor or legal representative. As with consultations with living people, the system informs the institution responsible for the value and the value range.

There is also more transparency for those who have joint accounts. If one of the holders requests the redemption of a forgotten amount, the other, upon entering the system, will be able to see the information: such as the amount, date and CPF of the person who made the request.
