The President will visit Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Saudi Arabia in March

Dubai, one of the destinations of the presidential tour of the Middle East.

President Alberto Fernández will travel to Chile during the month of March to participate in the inauguration of the new trans-Andean president, Gabriel Boric, and will later tour two Middle Eastern countries.

As confirmed by official sources on Monday, the head of state will travel to Santiago on Friday, March 11, to participate in the swearing-in acts of the elected Chilean president Boric.

Next, he will travel to the Middle East to visit two countries in that region where, among other activities, he will hold meetings seeking to make investments in the country.

It is estimated that on March 14 it will be arriving at Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and on the 15th it will move to Dubai to visit the World Expo of which Argentina is a part. Finally, on March 16, he will travel to Saudi Arabia.

The 2020 Dubai World Expo is a global event that opened in October last year and will run for six months in that city.

For the first time in the history of this type of event, organized every five years under the auspices of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the event will be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region and each of the 192 participating countries will have their own pavilion, a space where they will spread their culture, sports, technology, creativity, innovation and natural landscapes.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Argentina participates in Expo 2020 Dubai with a pavilion of 414 m2whose main attraction is a 148 m2 multimedia room, with state-of-the-art digital tools for visitors to appreciate the country’s iconic natural landscapes, the cultural diversity of its people, the talent of its athletes and its potential in terms of agribusiness, renewable energies and science and technology, among other fields.

In turn, the pavilion has a multipurpose space where conferences, commercial presentations, cultural activations and tastings of regional products will be held.

In December, the captain of the Argentine soccer team, Lionel Messiaccompanied by the central midfielder and also a player for the national team, Leandro Paredes, visited the Argentine pavilion at the exhibition, which runs until March 31.
