This weekend the AJP TOUR PANAMA was held, an International Jiu Jitsu Tournament that marks the way to the next competition in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The tournament brought together approximately 200 competitors from various academies and categories, from youth to adults and masters, in an intense day that stood out for the sportsmanship and high technical level of the participants.
The event took place at the Institutional Protection Service Base (SPI) in Corozal, Panama, an ideal setting that received athletes from countries such as Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, United States, Venezuela, Mexico, Italy, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Spain, Nicaragua, Peru, Brazil and France. The competitors, divided into categories of children, youth, male and female adults, demonstrated their skill, agility, strength, courage and intelligence in each combat.
The tournament culminated with the awarding of 59 gold, 47 silver and 22 bronze medals, of which 67 were won by Panamanian athletes, highlighting the country’s competitive level in this discipline.
In the classification by academies, GFTeam emerged as the winner with a total of 21,750 points, followed by Serpente with 10,700 points and Legacy with 8,700 points, reaffirming the leadership of these organizations in the development of Jiu Jitsu in the region.
The AJP TOUR PANAMA has left a significant mark on the country’s martial sport, consolidating Panama as a benchmark on the international Jiu Jitsu scene and preparing the ground for future successes in Abu Dhabi.
