Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) It is expected that the rains that have been generated since early morning will last until the early hours of the morning, due to the effects of a trough and the passage of a tropical wave over the southern Caribbean Sea.
Its effects have been felt in provinces such as El Gran Santo Domingo, La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, San Cristóbal, Azua, Peravia, Barahona and Pedernales. Hato Mayor, Samaná and surrounding areas are also expected to be affected.
For the afternoon and part of the night, rainy activity will extend to the northwest region of the Central Cordillera and the border area, while for the other regions no rain is expected and a hot environment is forecast.

The trough and tropical wave that affect the country have generated moderate to strong electrical storms in sectors of Greater Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal, which is why Indomet recommends that citizens be careful with electrical equipment.
