The Town hall of the National District, through the Urban Trees and of Sustainable Mobilityplanted trees on the renovated sidewalks in part of the University Area.
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the company Inmotion, and was executed by the Environmental Management Directorate inside the plan of the mayoress Carolina Mejía to transform sidewalks in different sectors of the National District into safer and more sustainable ones.
On this occasion, in the surroundings of General Archive of the Nation 30 were planted trees of the native species seedbedwhose scientific name is Bursera simaruba.
He seedbed It is on the list of permitted species of the Plan of Urban Trees of the Town hall of the National District, in addition, these trees they feed the parakeets and parrots.
Miracles Mercedesdirector of Environmental Management, and Francisco Metztechnical manager of the management, thanked the collaborators of the company software Inmotion for cooperating in the sowingassuming the reforestation within their socio-environmental responsibility policies.

The technical manager of the Environmental Management Directorate invited the citizens to approach the mayor’s office to receive the appropriate tree and technical advice to plant it in different spaces, thereby contributing to the transformation of Santo Domingo into a more sustainable city.
With the construction of new sidewalks and the placement of woodedecological correctors are created in which citizens can enjoy more accessible spaces that have trees endemic that do not damage public or private infrastructure.
