This week it was confirmed that the British group Inchcape will stop distributing a well-known brand of vehicles of Chinese origin in Chile, JAC Motors. The news has surprised many, since JAC Motors had positioned itself in the local market with a wide range of SUVs, pick-ups and cars. However, from now on, dealers will not have these models in their inventory, marking the end of an era in the distribution of passenger vehicles of this brand in the country.
The decision was communicated to the dealers, pointing out that the marketing of vehicles of JAC Motors will be suspended as part of an optimization and efficiency process within Inchcape’s strategy. The company has indicated that it carries out a continuous analysis of its offer and distribution channels in order to remain competitive in the Chilean and global automotive market.
Although Inchcape will stop selling the models JAC Motors’ passenger and light commercial vehicles, the company clarified that the brand’s medium and heavy commercial vehicles will continue to be available. This part of the offer will be managed through Derco-maq, which will allow customers to access these products, especially those looking for solutions for industrial or cargo transportation.
The departure of JAC Motors Inchcape’s portfolio does not mean that the company is reducing its operations in Chile. On the contrary, the British distributor reaffirmed its expansion plans in the country. Currently, Inchcape distributes brands such as BMW, Land Rover, Mazda, Suzuki, Subaru and Changan, among others.
Inchcapeas detailed on its website, is a multi-brand automotive distributor with a global presence in more than 50 countries. Its focus is to offer a portfolio of the world’s leading vehicle brands, providing solutions to an increasingly competitive market. The company has highlighted its ability to adapt to market demands, maintaining a growth strategy that combines efficiency with a diversified offer.
