DR and Honduras strengthen tourism ties with signing of Memorandum of Understanding

The Dominican Republic and Honduras have consolidated their relations in tourism with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, in an event held in Punta Cana.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado, and the Honduran Minister, Yadira Gómez, with the aim of promoting joint projects that promote economic growth and the development of tourism in both nations.

The memorandum establishes a cooperation framework for the exchange of good practices and the creation of a working group that will define the next steps to implement the agreement.

In that sense, Minister Collado announced that he will visit Honduras soon to advance in the execution of the commitments made.

Meanwhile, Minister Gómez highlighted the importance of this agreement, pointing out that “it will promote economic and social growth, taking advantage of the diversity of the tourist heritage of both countries.”

In addition, the development of a Garifuna route between Africa and the Americas was mentioned, which will allow achieving sustainable, inclusive and inclusive development between both regions.

During the signing of the agreement, the role that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries have developed was also highlighted, and at the same time, the important role that the DR embassy has developed in the Central American country, under the management of Ambassador Luis García, who, through his good offices, created the institutional channels for the implementation of the important agreement. “These actions are part of the foreign policy strategy of the government of change promoted by President Luis Abinader Corona.”
