Mexican president accuses the US of acting in bad faith

The Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, assured today that the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, is misinformed about the murders of journalists in this nation or acts in bad faith.

These statements were made by the president during his morning press conference at the National Palace in response to a question about a Blinken tweet.

The US Secretary of State referred on the social network Twitter to the “high number of journalists killed in Mexico this year” and expressed his alleged concern on the subject.

López Obrador considered the death of the press professionals very regrettable, but assured that in none of the cases did those responsible go unpunished.

They are not state crimes and Blinken is intervening in the internal affairs of our country, he asserted.

We are attending to the causes, affirmed the President and denounced the continuous interference of the governments of the United States in Mexican affairs.

It has been proven that there is a link between conservative groups in Mexico and Washington and we would like to know why the United States finances these sectors to attack a legitimate government, he said.

It is the embassy of that country that pays the businessman Claudio X Morales to attack us. I would like them to answer me and not act in an interfering manner because Mexico is not their colony, he asserted.

“We are open to diplomacy, based on principles of mutual respect, equality and attention to the interests of each one,” said the Foreign Ministry, promising to give “a strong response, not necessarily symmetrical, but adjusted and sensitive to the US side.” to the restrictions imposed by Washington.
