The candidate of National Party (PN), Alvaro Delgadoexpressed his vision of what he wants to do if he can overcome the Frente Amplio in the upcoming elections and reach the Executive Tower. Despite his optimistic rhetoricsome observe these promises with caution, since Delgado has been part of the current government and many of what he promises could have been realized in these five years.
Delgado expresses confidence that both the National Party and the ruling coalition will maintain their parliamentary majoritydescribing the current electoral dynamics as a more favorable space to consolidate efforts aimed at the development of the country.

The strategies outlined by Delgado imply the strengthening of the coalition, even if this entails certain sacrifices at the party level to ensure a government that continues the course already started by the current administration. In this sense, he mentions the importance of a new “Commitment to the Country”, a programmatic agreement that strengthens coordination between coalition partners and ensures a cohesive approach on key issues for national development.

Repromises public safety and justice
Among his priorities, Delgado points out public safety and justice, with plans to strengthen police forces and create a Ministry of Justice, in addition to considering the Urgent Consideration Law as a potential instrument to advance certain issues.
Likewise, it insists on the continuity of economic policies that prioritize both the reduction of the fiscal deficit and the stimulation of private investment and the increase in efficiency in public finances.
It recognizes that child poverty has been a must of this current administration, and ensures that a comprehensive approach with education, health and access to basic services would be a cluster of tools to find long-term solutions.
