Tapachula, Chis., The migrant caravan that left Tapachula a week ago decided to rest yesterday in the municipality of Pijijiapan and today will continue its journey to the north of the country.

There are women and children who are very tired, their feet are bruised, but with God’s blessing we continue.expressed the Venezuelan José Avín.

He assured that despite the fatigue and difficulties they face daily on the road, such as lack of food and water, as well as inclement weather, they will continue the journey in search of reaching Mexico City and later to the border with the United States.

According to the organizers, they hope that upon arriving in the municipality of Arriaga they will be joined by a group of about 400 migrants who will arrive from Tuxtla Gutiérrez, before continuing along the Mexican Pacific coast.

Meanwhile, undocumented immigrants who are stranded in Tapachula or who are advancing from Central America towards the border with Mexico are preparing a new caravan to leave next Sunday, October 20.

The foreigners themselves have launched the call on social networks and are organizing themselves in a WhatsApp group to exchange concerns.

Let’s gather all the people we can so they don’t stop us and we can move forwardsaid a Honduran who asked not to be quoted by name.

We have to see a way for the police to guard us along the way, because we hear a lot about the cartels.added Nery Mejía, from El Salvador.

Usually, migrants leave the southern border in large groups with the argument that the procedures before the Mexican authorities take months and that sources of employment are scarce to obtain income that allows them to sustain the wait.
