The National Electoral Commission of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) would issue its second bulletin this Thursday with the preliminary results of the elections.
It is scheduled to be at 6:00 in the afternoon.
“So far the commission is receiving minutes to review them and that the next bulletin has as many tables as possible to have a clear difference in the votes,” they expressed.
Until now, the candidate of the teaching current Eugenio María de Hostos and current president of the union, Eduardo Hidalgoof the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) and allies takes the lead.

“We ratify our commitment that has about 24 points, we are going to work to strengthen our union, to defend the rights of our teachers, that all the Dominican people have the guarantee that through this management they will have a determination for an education of public quality for all children and adolescents,” said Hidalgo.
“To all the Dominican people, we are here to serve you and so that we can move towards quality education for the Dominican people. The ADP will continue to deepen the demand for better living and working conditions for our teachers and fundamentally for our retirees and pensioners,” he added.
Other candidates accept the results
After 9:00 at night, Nolberto Ortiz recognized his opponent’s victory and extended his congratulations for the victory. “I inform the Peñagomista teaching profession, our allies, the educational community and public opinion, that, in the reports registered up to this moment in our computing center, a trend of majority votes is identified in favor of Professor Eduardo Hidalgo, candidate of the current Eugenio María de Hostos and allies.”
In this context, he requested the national electoral commission and the local commissions to carry out the count of each vote cast until the end and carry out the due distribution of seats as ordered by the statutes.
The same action was taken by the candidate for the presidency of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) for the Magisterial Force current, Adhamilka Espinal, recognized tonight the victory of the current president of the union, Eduardo Hidalgo, in the elections held at the national level, highlighting that the trend of the results points to his re-election.
«I want to congratulate my colleague Eduardo Hidalgo for his victory and wish him success in his new management at the head of the ADP. I am sure that together, from our respective positions, we will be able to continue strengthening our union,” said Adhamilka Espinal.
Electoral process
For the electoral process, 366 tables were installed that operated in 263 centers throughout the national territory. Voting began at 8:00 in the morning and concluded at 5:00 in the afternoon.
For a period of three years, 31 national leaders will be elected, 21 to the Executive Committee, 5 to the National Disciplinary Court, 5 to the National Council of Commissioners and 174 municipal sections.
