Dina Boluarte in the midst of protests against insecurity: "Peru is not those stone throwers"

President Dina Boluarte spoke about the insecurity and crime that affects the country and that has led to a carrier strike for the second consecutive day being victims of extortion. However, during her speech at an official activity in Loreto, the president called for unity because Peru is a country made up of “good people,” who seek peace and who do not identify with acts of violence. In reference to the possible unrest that could arise after the strike announced for 72 hours from October 10 by leaders of the transport unions.

“It is important to continue working together and in peace for the progress of our beloved homeland. Peruvians are good people, who seek peace and development. We are not violent, We are not those stone throwers who then hide their hand. We put our hand and our heart to work on the development of the country,” were Boluarte’s statements.

Likewise, he reaffirmed the commitment of his Government in the fight against crime and delinquencypointing out that this battle is intensifying with the support of the National Police and the armed forces. “But this fight needs us united, because being one heart, one fist, we will defeat the criminal terrorism that we intend to take away our peace and tranquility. We will never back down in this fight for citizen security and provide the tranquility that our sisters and brothers in our territory demand daily,” he added.

The head of state described as “war” the acts of violence that has unleashed crime in the country and that she is going to combat it for the good of all Peruvians, despite the fact that the transport strike continues on its second day and whose representatives from various unions are waiting for the response from the Executive. “In disunity and violence, we all lose. Above all, Peru loses,” concluded Dina Boluarte.

“It would be easy to avoid these problems, as has happened before, but there is no time for the weak. Here we are with the Armed Forces and the Policeto defeat those who have made crime and delinquency their way of life,” he expressed during a ceremony at the Government Palace on October 10, the day the national transport strike began.
