“Now I made the decision for him to go to Health because, apart from the fact that he was in charge during the pandemic and learned a lot, he is an expert, precisely, in digitalization, efficiency and distribution logistics operations processes. So, he is going to help a lot to Dr. (David) Kershenobich, to Zoé Robledo (general director of IMSS), to Alejandro Svarch (general director of IMSS-Bienestar, to Martí (Batres, general director of ISSSTE), to this whole process for the purchase and distribution of medicines,” he explained this Friday.
He announced that they are also working on medication guides for each disease and its substitute, so that, if a drug is not available, it can be replaced by another so that no person is left without treatment.
Sheinbaum highlighted that the great objective of his six-year term in terms of health will be to integrate a single health system.
“In such a way that, if I get sick and want to go to a health center, I don’t necessarily have to go to the IMSS; I can go to the IMSS-Bienestar or I can go to the ISSSTE to be treated. That is the objective, our maximum objective, and that there are medicines and that there are enough doctors,” he stated.
