Commissions of the Anti-Drug Coordination and the Cumaná Municipal Delegation of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc), through intelligence work, managed to locate two men of Colombian nationality and the seizure of 990 panels of drugs in the state Sucre.
The detainees were identified as Yeison Rodríguez (43) and Jesús Ibáñez (24), who belong to a structured organized crime group dedicated to illicit drug trafficking.
These people were on the Cumaná-Carúpano national highway, El Peñón sector, Valentín Valiente parish, Sucre municipality of the homonymous entity, in a house under construction, where they had hidden 32 packages and a bag containing the panelas, as well as eight drums of fuel, which would be transferred by sea to Nueva Esparta.
The Cicpc commissions will continue the investigation process to achieve the capture of the others involved who used the Venezuelan crossing to transport these substances to other countries, in addition to the processing through the International Police (Interpol), to determine if are requested by other countries.
Both men are under the command of the 11th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry in Drug Matters.
