With coverage of 80% of the value of the cell phone, Check launched the first generation of insurance for this type of device in the country, which is available through a quick digital purchase process on the web. www.check.com.bo. Prices range between Bs 65 and Bs 370, depending on the range of the cell phone.

“In just 5 minutes, people can buy the insurance, just by identifying themselves and checking the approval record of the device and supporting its value with the presentation of the invoice or proof of purchase,” explains the General Manager of Crediseguro, Gabriela Asmat. .

Statistics confirm that to date there are around 13.6 million cellular mobile connections in Bolivia. This means that possibly the number of devices is greater than the number of inhabitants who, according to the last Census, barely exceed 11 million.

The national figures are no different from the global ones, where there are more than 7.7 billion mobile subscriptions for a world population of 7.4 billion, more devices than inhabitants.

Until a few years ago, estimates from the Transport and Telecommunications Authority (ATT) indicated that approximately one million cell phones were lost or stolen in the country per year, an alarming 10% of the total equipment.

“The data are obviously worrying and that is why we designed this compensation insurance so that the economic impact of replacing a stolen or lost cell phone is less for users,” he adds.

Check cell phone insurance has a 15% deductible, meaning that the insured must cover that moment to access the coverage and a waiting period of 30 days.

In recent years, the insurance market in Bolivia has registered important innovations, not only in terms of how simple and fast it is now to access insurance through different technological tools, but also because of the diversity of existing offers, including those that cover to national and international travelers.

“We put “Your Safe Destination” on sale, the insurance designed for trips around the world, Bolivia and Latin America and Bolivia, which can be acquired through a quick 100% digital process in www.check.com.bo”says Asmat.

The insurance is divided into two plans, the Latin American one, for trips within Bolivia or in the region, with coverage of up to $us 5,000 and prices starting from $us 2 per day.

This insurance, which is available to travelers who are more than 50 kilometers from their place of residence, provides medical assistance for accidents and non-pre-existing illnesses, reimbursement for loss or delay in returning luggage, and guidance in case of loss of documents.

“If the user travels outside of Bolivia, the World Plan protects them with coverage of up to $us 35,000, with prices starting at $us 5.90 per day, with coverage such as medical assistance for accidents and illnesses, reimbursement for loss or delay in the return of luggage, and protection in case of loss of passport,” he points out.

The traveler can make consultations 24 hours a day and access specialized medical opinion and prescription medications among other benefits.

“The time of insurance that took forever to be in force and that forced the user to go through a true labyrinth of procedures is now a thing of the past and we are very proud to have moved in that direction in Bolivia,” he concludes.
