The list is available at official page of the regulatory agency. According to Anatel, around 21 thousand telecommunications companies across the country have been notified since Thursday (10), which will make the total blocking of betting sites take a few days.

“It will be up to each of the providers to take the necessary technical measures to implement this determination, starting on Friday, October 11th. The time taken to execute the blockade will depend on the measures employed by the providers, according to their specificities,” Anatel said in a statement.

The deadline for bettors to withdraw money from bets not authorized to operate in the country ended on Thursday (10). Anyone who was unable to withdraw the money by the deadline must contact consumer protection agencies. If there is no response, the government must register a police report.

Another possibility is to contact the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which can take collective action against the same website. This is because the agency can identify refund requests for the same betting page.

On the 1st, the Ministry of Finance published the list of companies authorized to operate in the country. According to the most recent update, there are 210 bets from 96 companies on the national list and 18 companies in four states: Paraná, Maranhão, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais. These companies requested authorization from the ministry’s Prizes and Betting Secretariat by September 30th.

The negative list, of bets prohibited from operating, took longer to draw up. According to the Ministry of Finance, the deadline was necessary because the department needs to legally justify the refusal of authorizations. Minister Fernando Haddad, however, asked that the Prizes and Betting Secretariat anticipated the release from the list of irregular bets.

Despite containing more than 2 thousand pages, the negative list has some similar addresses, but which lead to the same betting page. In one case, the same company created ten addresses with small differences in the final digit. When clicking, however, the user fell into the same bet.

Providers

The Brazilian Association of Internet and Telecommunications Providers (Abrint) said that blocking access to irregular online betting companies represents a “significant technical challenge” for internet service providers. According to the entity, implementing these restrictions requires robust efforts, in addition to compliance with an extensive list of domains.

“Aprint emphasizes that the block in question is temporary, allowing companies that regularize their situation to have access reestablished in the future. It is worth remembering that this type of action requires rigorous planning and coordination between the parties involved, in order to ensure that user rights are preserved and that internet service providers can implement the measures effectively and efficiently”, he says. the association.
