Representative Margarita Zavala shared her concern about the acts of violence in Tamaulipas.
Elías Lixa, federal representative for Yucatán, demanded that local and federal authorities intervene immediately to find his partner alive.
”The cowardly kidnapping of our fellow Tamaulipas local deputy Vicente Verastegui is totally despicable!” he said.

Vicente is a relative of César Verástegui, who competed for the Governor of Tamaulipas in the last state electoral process.
The state Attorney General’s Office reported that it opened an investigation file into the kidnapping.
