The bill that strengthens the fight against the incorrect administration of justice, and modifies the Law of the Fiscal, Judicial Career and Penal Code was approved tonight in the first vote.
With 83 votes in favor, 20 against and two abstentions, the Plenary gave the green light, in the first vote, to the aforementioned law which, in summary, sanctions prosecutors and judges who release detainees in flagrante delicto.
The president of the Justice Commission, Isaac Mita, proposed going to a vote to exempt the second vote, but the majority was not reached.
In a week, at the next plenary session, the second vote on the law will be held again.
ORGANIZED CRIME AND URBAN TERRORISM
After a long debate, the president of Congress, at 10:59 pm, announced that the head of the Justice Commission, Isaac Mita, was going to present to the Plenary the substitute texts for the modifications of the Organized Crime Law and urban terrorism.
This, despite the fact that the transporters have announced that they will go on an indefinite strike if the Organized Crime Law is not repealed and the replacement text of the Urban Terrorism Law is sent to the archive.
In the afternoon, it was learned, through Mita, that there will be no repeal of the Organized Crime Law.
In a passage from the Plenary Session, the spokesperson for Fuerza Popular, Arturo Alegría, said that he was going to present a motion of censure against Mita because it did not present the replacement text for the urban terrorism law.
