The Commission Economical for America Latin and the Caribbean (ECLAC) approved this Friday that his next term of office sessions will be held in Republic Dominican in 2026.
The information was shared by Ministry of Relations Dominican Foreign Affairs in institutional note.
The institution explained that the country was elected in a unanimous during the 40th period of sessions of this organization made in LimePeru, approving the proposal formulated by Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez jointly with the Minister of Economy, Planning and Development, Pável Isa.
During this period of sessionsheld in LimePeru, Foreign Minister Álvarez offered the country as headquarters.
The Foreign Ministry expressed that this election is another example of the leadership of Republic Dominican in the region, promoted by the president Luis Abinader.
“As a country we feel proud of this recognition and once again we will demonstrate that we have the capacity and interest to hold this conclave at the highest level,” Mirex highlighted.
The Foreign Minister of Peru, Elmer Schialer, also announced that Republic Dominican with ColombiaPanama and the Virgin Islands will be accompanying their country in the vice presidencies of the ECLAC.

The ECLAC raised this Friday a program of work for 2026 that proposes “recalibrate the efforts of policy public” to align them with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for development.
The project of program of the system was presented by the officer in charge of the program planning and operations division of the ECLACSandra Manuelito.
The main aspects of program The work deals with topics on economic, social, environmentally sustainable development, public management and statistics, and subregional and regional integration activities.
