With his visit to the Alejo Peralta neighborhood of Acapulco, Sheinbaum marked a difference with respect to his predecessor, López Obrador, since he did not visit neighborhoods affected by disasters.
López Obrador’s visits to the port were limited to holding private meetings at naval facilities, with the Governor of Guerrero Evelyn Salgado, local authorities and members of his cabinet.
After his tour through the streets, Sheinbaum went to the facilities of the Twelfth Naval Region in Acapulco, where he chaired the meeting titled “Actions for Hurricane John.”
Until yesterday, the Command Post in Acapulco reported:
• 43 shelters enabled where 3,773 people are cared for.
• 102,466 groceries delivered by land and 9,594 by air.
• 606,432 liters of bottled water distributed.
• 7 million 32 thousand 500 liters of water delivered to neighborhoods, hospitals and water treatment plants.
• The evacuation of water in the Nueva Frontera and La Huerta neighborhoods in Acapulco was completed.
• A pumping equipment was installed in the Tixtla Lagoon, Gro. to prevent runoff.
• 79.5 percent progress in cleaning the Papagayo II aqueduct intake; 78.5 percent in the cleaning and desilting of the La Sabana River and 87 percent in the repair of the leak in the pipe of the Lomas de Chapultepec aqueduct.
• 67,978 tons of garbage, mud, earth and debris have been removed.
• 15,383 vaccines administered; 2,631 dental care and 596 mental health consultations.
