After declaring itself in permanent session, the Nomination Evaluation Committee of the Citizen Power, in the voice of deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello (PSUV/La Guaira), announced that in 30 days they will have the list of those eligible to occupy positions in the Citizen Power.
The Nomination Evaluation Committee assumed the responsibility of selecting the Attorney General of the Republic, the Comptroller General of the Republic and the Ombudsman.
Alessandrello stated that this Friday progress was made in the work schedule planned for the next 30 days and that it was unanimously approved by all members of the Committee.
“We made the schedule for the call for applications that will be published at the beginning of next week and all this to once and for all advance on the series of tasks that the law tells us, to finally present the list of legible ones. It is a harmonious work, we declare ourselves in permanent session, until we complete the assigned task,” said the spokesperson.
He clarified that those who currently hold the position of Prosecutor and Comptroller are not prevented from participating since “the law does not establish any conditions.” However, in the case of the Ombudsman, the rule establishes that the selected person can perform his or her duties for one period.
Collections will be received next week
For his part, Deputy José Gregorio Correa indicated that the mandate granted by the Chamber last Thursday is being fulfilled in terms of taking care of the evaluation of the candidates and doing technical work.
He indicated that anyone who aspires can come starting next Tuesday, since “this is a house that is open to everyone, the political and appointment issue will be done by the Chamber, but we have an obligation and a mandate to receive everyone now.” “each of the Venezuelans.”
Regarding the requirements, he said that they are those provided for in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and in the Venezuelan legal system, it is not a Committee to evaluate partisan political situations, it is a Committee that is responsible for legally evaluating and we We have the obligation to do it,” he indicated.
The parliamentarian explained that the person elected by the Chamber of Deputies will serve for seven years as provided for in the Magna Carta.
“I urge on behalf of all the deputies to come when informed on Tuesday, to register, to bring all the requirements provided for in the Constitution, and in the Law,” he pointed out.
The Committee will begin to operate in the Bolivian Museum, located between the corners of Traposos and San Jacinto, in the Cathedral parish.
