The OVCS noted that the protests took place in the country despite the repression and arbitrary arrests
The Venezuelan Observatory of Social Conflict (OVCS) reported that during September 2024, 290 protests were recorded, which represents 46% less than the same month in 2024 when 538 demonstrations were evident.
Of the total presented by the OVCS, some 144 corresponded to claims within the framework of Civil and Political Rights (DCP); which is half of the global figure corresponding to September, while street actions demanding Economic, Social, Cultural and Environmental Rights (Desca) occupied the other 50% with 146.
In this section, demands were noted that included failure in public services, demands for better salaries and the rejection of fractional payment of bonuses, among other reasons.

The protests, according to the report, were carried out in the country despite the repression and arbitrary arrests by the State security forces, with September 28 being the day in which the most actions of street; date that coincided with the mobilizations two months before the electoral event by the ruling party and the opposition.
Likewise, the OVCS details that in 98% of the street actions there was a high participation of women; This is in relation to those detained by the post-election protests who took to the streets to demand the release of their relatives.
The main reason for going out to protest was political participation, followed by basic services, justice, health, labor, retirees and pensioners; education, parents and representatives for the conditions of the school year.
On the other hand, Monagas was the main entity that registered protests during September with 39; followed by Carabobo (29), Sucre (28), Anzoátegui (25) and Bolívar (23).
Of the 290 demonstrations documented during September, 157 were combined. In these, more than one right was demanded in the same event, which represented 54% of the total registered.
