These are the most important news of October 10, 2024

The current vice-dictator of Nicaragua, also called “co-dictator”, Rosario Murilloshe will definitely have serious difficulties in controlling power and initiating her long-awaited dynastic succession to her children, after the physical disappearance of her husband and Sandinista leader. Daniel Ortega.

The powerful reason is that the military is not willing to subordinate itself to her, much less to one of her sons, whom they do not recognize merits to lead Sandinismo, maintains the political analyst and opposition leader. Felix Maradiaga.

During an interview with Maradiaga, conducted by the director of Article 66Álvaro Navarro, for the program In Contactfrom this media outlet, the political scientist and former political inmate of the dictatorship, analyzed the real possibilities of a dynastic succession headed by Murillo. The political scientist affirmed that the co-dictator does not have it easy, especially because of the opposition she could face from a good part of the senior officials of the Nicaraguan Army.

It is the second time that an analyst with knowledge of the behavior of the officers of the armed forces questions the possible subordination of the military institution to Murillo, in the event of replacing Ortega in the top position, which for now they share in the so-called strategy. of co-government that Sandinism has installed since 2017.

Previously, the recently deceased retired army general Humberto Ortega, founding head of the Armed Forces, brother of the dictator and brother-in-law of Murillo, had brought this issue to the fore. The retired military man said in an interview with the media Infobae that after the disappearance of his brother, there would be a power vacuum that no one could fill. He made it clear that his sister-in-law and her children would not be able to control power and therefore, the Army would have to take control and call elections.

Maradiaga considers that General Ortega’s analysis and forecast were quite accurate since he knows that Rosario Murillo and her children enjoy very low acceptance within the structures of the Sandinista Front.

Ortega member Franya Urey Blandón, general director of the Directorate of Registration and Control of Non-Profit Organizations (NPO), within the framework of the 45th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of the Interior (Mint), defended the massive closure of NGOs, which since From 2018 to this year, more than 5,000 organizations and associations have been canceled by the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.

Urey Blandón first assured that the changes that have occurred in Nicaraguan legislation, linked to the Foreign Agents Law, which forces organizations to register as such in case they receive external financing for their programs, were to “avoid what happened in 2018”, in reference to the social protests in which the population demanded the departure of the dictators Ortega and Murillo.

«These people (non-governmental organizations) had been preparing since before 2018 with funds to destabilize the country, take away our peace and tranquility. “They received the funds with the argument of helping Nicaragua in vulnerable areas and what they did the least was helping vulnerable areas,” said the Ortega official.

Furthermore, he highlighted that these changes were to guarantee that “the funds are not used for interference (…) or undermining the sovereignty of our country.”

The director of Registration and Control of NPO affirms that the thousands of canceled organizations have “lost their legal personality, because they lost it, it was not that the Government canceled them, as is heard in the right-wing media.”

«They (the NPOs) have obligations to fulfill; financial statements, boards of directors, in order to know what they are doing. It is transparency, it is nothing out of this world (…) so, they did not report it, there were organizations that had been non-compliant for 30 years, some that registered and did not appear again, organizations that were headless.

The dictator Daniel Ortega, through his political operator who serves as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Valdrack Jaentschke, proposed a new shortlist to occupy the position of Secretary General of the Central American Integration System (SICA), which will generate opposition and controversy among the human rights and opposition organizations.

These are three women political operators loyal to the dictator and who have been part of the repressive mechanism against the Nicaraguan population, among them are two identified as perpetrators of “crimes against humanity.”

Sonia Castro González is a former Minister of Health and currently serves as presidential advisor for “Health Affairs.” She was one of the first female officials of the dictatorship to be sanctioned by the United States Government, for being directly committed to human rights violations.

Castro was Minister of Health in 2018, when social protests broke out among the population demanding freedom and democracy. Following the dictators’ order to shoot to kill protesters, Castro ordered hospitals to close for those injured in the marches and his order caused deaths of people who with timely medical attention could have survived.

Another of the proposals to occupy the chair of general secretary of SICA is the current Minister of the Interior (before the Interior), María Amelia Coronel Kinloch, called among civil society organizations the “minister of confiscations”, for being the one who has been charged with the mission of outlawing Non-Profit Organizations and ordering the confiscation of all their assets.

Likewise, Colonel Kinloch has been in charge of executing, through the Directorate of Immigration and Immigration, under her command, the expulsion or prohibition of entry into the country of hundreds of Nicaraguans who have been de facto exiled by the Sandinista dictatorship.

Ortega’s third candidate to manage the General Secretariat of the regional organization is the Ortega representative Arling Patricia Alonso Gómez, on the list sent by the regime’s chancellery to the organization, she appears as candidate number one.

Ortega’s candidate is a political activist and agitator of the dictatorship in Chinandega, and for the last 12 years she has been a deputy in the National Assembly.
