He must serve 18 months in the Najayo prison, San Cristóbal
The position he held Hugo Beras as director of National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant), from August 2022 to November 2023, the investigation into the allegations of the Public Ministry in the so-called operation chameleonwith which he dismantled an alleged network of seven people against the State for a contract for the Santo Domingo traffic light system for more than 1,300 million pesosin which it is also noted.
This is what he revealed Laura Acostalegal representative of the former director of the Intrantwhen expressing one of the reasons why this Thursday Judge Fátima Veloz, of the Permanent Attention Office of the National District, imposed 18 months of preventive detention on Beras, to be served in the prison of Najayoin the San Cristóbal province.

In that sense, he announced that they will appeal the court’s decision.
Regarding whether the judges who are mentioned by the Public Ministry as victims of espionage, and who last Wednesday attended the hearing of the request for a coercive measure, influenced the judge’s decision, Acosta pointed out that he has no evidence. that the preventive detention against Beras was for that reason. “I cannot guarantee something that is a supposition,” he said, although he considered it “strange and surprising.”
